Diversity and Inclusion

We believe in creating shared success for all of our stakeholders, an ambition that guides our business and our brands. Internally, we’re focused on building a more diverse and representative workforce supported by a culture that embraces differences and removes barriers to inclusion.

Our employees participate in mindful inclusion training, which focuses on how to become more aware of and better manage possible unconscious biases.

While we’ve supported diversity and inclusion (D&I) for many years, with efforts spearheaded by our Balance & Inclusiveness Committee since 2017, the past year was a tipping point for us – as it was for many companies.

Social unrest across North America spurred strong employee engagement and action to examine our policies, practices and advertising. We formed a task force to review and revise various workplace policies to ensure that all of our employees – including Black people, Indigenous Peoples, people of colour and those of various genders and abilities – feel safe and included, and are treated with respect and dignity.

On the heels of our June 2020 donation to the Black Health Alliance in Canada, we rolled out educational programs and resources on Black Lives Matter (BLM) topics. As issues persisted during the year, we launched internal forums discussing and denouncing anti-Asian hate and anti-Semitism, and social media campaigns during Black History, Asian Heritage and Pride months.

Along with training on respect in the workplace, all of our employees are expected to participate in mindful inclusion training, which focuses on how to become more aware of and better manage possible unconscious biases.

As part of the Pernod Ricard North America D&I Council, we’re also collaborating on a number of cross-continent initiatives aimed at cultivating an inclusive culture, finding and developing diverse talent, promoting open and transparent communication, contributing to a more inclusive world and measuring our success.
